All practical riding instruction is provided at Instructor to Student Ratio of 1: 1 to ensure you get our undivided attention.
FIRST STEPS
Learner's Licence Preparation
Where needed a theory class covering the Rules of the Road, Road Signs and Markings as well as the Controls of the vehicle is provided for those needing it. This class prepares you to write the Code 1 learner's licence test at a Driver's Licence Testing Centre. The course ends with a mock test using the kind of language used in the actual test. Passing the Code 1 (motorcycle) learner's licence test allows you to be legally trained in the operation of a motorcycle.
The class is of 6 hours duration and is completed in 3 sessions of 2 hrs each.
Beginner/ Novice Rider
Novice Rider Training covers both the theoretical and practical aspects of safely riding a motorcycle and takes an absolute beginner from never having done it before to safely riding a fully manual motorcycle. Lessons are generally provided on smaller 150cc machines. Instruction is strictly one-on-one and the instructor will give you his undivided attention throughout. This is where you learn how to ride the motorcycle.
K53 Test Preparation
Learn how to correctly and competently perform the exercises required by the South African K53 motorcycle test. The entire practical test format and sequence including the prescribed pre-trip inspection of the motorcycle, the required mounting procedure and move off sequence is covered here. Successful completion of this training indicates readiness to take the official test.
Basic Rider Training
Basic Handling Skills
These form the basis of the Novice Rider Course, it is listed here as a separate module for those who have previously achieved their motorcycle licence but have not ridden a motorcycle in a while. Here, in addition to learning how to manipulate the basic controls, we also teach the concept of "look there..go there" establishing proper use of eyes and body position for turns, cornering and steering. Balance and body position exercises develop competent handling of the machine. This is a "getting to know the bike" segment. An understanding of both vehicle controls and vehicle dynamics is the desired outcome.
NEXT STEPS
Intermediate Handling Skills
This is where your handling skills get pushed beyond what you have thus far been accustomed to. You will learn real balance and vehicle control techniques to ensure that you remain in control of your machine at all times. You will learn the absolute importance of body position, wrist, elbow and shoulder placement for turns. You learn the proper seated position and leg placement and the all-important need to look to where you want to be rather than at what you are afraid of hitting.
Skills Program
Most of this segment is comprised of cone maze exercises designed to ensure that you master the required handling skills being taught. You will be introduced to carrying a pillion safely in this segment.

Advanced Handling Skills
This is the handling skills course for the big guns. Here we run gymkhana exercises against time and each other. Cadence braking techniques, Counter steering exercises and emergency evasive action techniques are taught and practised.
Various stopping and braking techniques are practised at various speeds and on different road surfaces. Wet weather handling exercises are taught and practised to develop both competence and confidence.
Balance and control ability is reinforced by exercises that force full lock turns with power on throughout. This course uses any size of motorcycle, the bigger the better.
STREET SURVIVAL SKILLS
After completion of the K53 test preparation course and acquiring the driving license, you are taken onto the road network in stages and gently introduced to the real world of motorcycle survival, ensuring that the skills you were tested on, can be safely applied to traffic situations in the road network.
The aim is to build confidence and gain riding experience gently and at your own pace, It allows you to carefully explore this new environment to which you have just gained official access. You are shadowed by an instructor who remains in radio communication throughout and guides you along the way.

Basic Road Skills
Basic Road Skills training is provided on low-traffic volume residential or urban roads. It is only provided by day and on dry tarred road surfaces. This is your introduction to safe road use. It is designed to ensure that you develop the confidence and situational awareness you will need to use our roads safely. You are gently exposed to road traffic as a motorcyclist under the guidance of an experienced instructor every step of the way.
Intermediate Road Skills
Intermediate Road Skills training takes you out of residential streets and into main road traffic. Exposure is to main roads and multi-lane dual-carriageway roads with moderate to heavy traffic volumes. It is provided by day or night and on the tarred road surfaces Mother Nature provides on the day. Awareness of the traffic environment is developed and hazard identification is constantly practiced and reinforced by practical application. You are guided by an instructor who is in radio contact with you and supervising your progress.
Advanced Road Skills
Advanced Road Skills training is often what people refer to as an Advanced Riding Course, it has both a theoretical component and a practical component. teaching you the defensive riding mindset and the strategies designed to keep you alive and enjoying the ride. It exposes you to finding the optimum cornering line through every bend and allows you apply everything you learned in the various handling skills courses.
Returning Rider/ New Vehicle Orientation
This is for the previously licensed rider who, because of personal circumstances, studies, marriage, the birth of children or work obligations has had to stay off the bike for some time or simply for the rider transitioning from one bike to another. This is for the rider who feels a little unsure of his ability to handle/control the machine and who needs some assistance to gain confidence/competence in a safe and controlled environment to ensure they return to their previous riding form.
Regardless of how long you've been off the bike, it is recommended that you take some form of structured training to allow you to get into the swing of things in safety and under controlled conditions to ensure the minimum risk to you and to others. We have carefully structured this training to get rid of the anxiety and to ensure that you get back to doing what you love. We address the common errors riders on newer/different (to what they are accustomed to) machines are prone to making....but without the attendant damage or repair costs. This is a get comfortable with your new ride course.
